Rock Chick Redemption by Kristen Ashley

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: Funny, Romance, Adult, Contemporary Romance

Description: Roxie is on the run from a bad boyfriend who will not catch the hint that it is o-v-e-r. She’s in no mood for love at first sight, but when her eyes fall on Hank, it’s trouble from the get-go. Roxie tries to hold Hank at arms length but Hank wants to be a closer (as in, a lot closer). Roxie’s trouble catches up with her and Hank wants to help but Roxie knows in her heart that she is no good for a white hat guy. The problem is no one agrees with her, especially her crazy hippie best friend Annette or her parents; the even crazier small-Indiana-town Herb and Trish. Toss into the mix the gang from Rock Chick and Rock Chick Rescue and Roxie finds herself totally outnumbered.

Review: This book was great, it made me think of Jet and Eddie because Jet and Roxie are both so stubborn when it comes to letting people into their lives.  It was funny and I keep getting excited for the other books. This series so far is good there is never a dull moment and Fortnum’s is very entertaining.

Hank is a cop and even though he is a cop he still helps Lee and he does not see black and white he is somewhere in between. He is sweet and he protects the people he cares about.  When Roxie walks into Fortnum’s to see her uncle he knows from then on that she is going to be trouble for him.

Roxie has had a lot of trouble with a relationship that keeps haunting her. She has also never met her uncle Tex. She goes to meet him and spend time with him, she has an ulterior motive when she goes to see him; she wants to get away from the thing that is haunting her. She does not think she would get sucked in to the family that is in Denver and she does not want to. She tries to stay away and keep her emotions in check, but they do not let her.

Roxie’s family is nutty and hilarious you have seen a little bit of Tex in the other books, but you get to see him in this book a lot better. Roxie’s mom and father are also very loud and dramatic so there is never a dull moment with them.

Fortnum’s is starting to be a safe place for people to go when they are in danger or when they are lost because all the people there are caring and are willing to fight for someone that needs help.
This series is just getting better.

The next book is about Jules and Vance and I have read that it is going to be a good one. I have no cried with any of the other books, but the next book seems like there are some tear jerker moments.  I will be sad when this series ends.

Rock Chick Rescue by Kristen Ashley

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: Humor, Romance, Adult

Description: Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.

Review:  This book was funny and It was an easy read, I think all these books are going to be easy reads.

Jet got on my nerves a little though because she kept trying to push Eddie away and she knew that it was going to happen, she should have accepted it, but it would have made the book boring in the long haul I understand that. Jet is stubborn and when she has problems she does not want any help from anybody. She does not want to lean on anybody and she does not want to involved anyone  in her life.

Eddie is stubborn maybe even more stubborn than Jet and maybe that is why they work so well together because he can tell when she is “ full of shit” and he will call her on it. It works well for the both of them.

The trouble throughout the book for Jet is crazy she gets into so much trouble, she is always in the wrong place at the wrong time, and sometimes I think that Eddie should have stuck to his threat to handcuff her to the bed. Although Lee did the same thing and it never lasted, but at least he did what he said.

Jet’s dad drove me insane he just kept digging a bigger hole for Jet to try and fix, he always though he was doing it for the family. He wanted his family to be together when he was actually pulling the family apart with his problems. In the end I think he went a little crazy, but it is family and you do not give up on them even when they have hit rock bottom.

This book was good and I cannot wait to read the next ones because I am sure they will all be great. I highly recommend this book it is an easy read and will definitely make you laugh.

Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

Rating: ★★★★

Genre:  Romance, Contemporary, Humor, Adult

Description:  Indy Savage, cop's daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy's employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicating matters, Lee has decided he's interested, Indy's decided she's not. But she can't seem to keep Lee out of her life when she's repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she's finding dead bodies).
Indy's best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee's challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

Review: This book was really good and it was funny. It was really funny and Indy and Lee go so well together.

Indy always wanted Lee and she would always try to get his attention by acting silly, but she did not know that Lee wanted her too but could not have her because of how complicated his life is and how dangerous it is if she got involved. Indy is not any woman and she likes to get involved in things even if it means danger, she is stubborn and does not know when to stop getting in danger.

Lee helps her with that. He is in the military and helps her when she gets in trouble although he does not do it out of the goodness of his heart there are some things he wants in return which are pretty awesome considering Indy has wanted him for a while, but he never showed interest.
Indys best friend is also Lees sister so they are all intertwined.

This book was well written and it was really funny, sometimes a little frustrating because of Indy and Lee problems, but when those hiccups were out of the way and the bad guys were out of the way everything went smoothly and happily I think. There are more books to this series so I am excited to read the other stories. I hope Lees sister will get a book because that would be hilarious to read about, she if even worse than Indy will and getting in trouble.
