Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Synopsis: I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

Rating:  ★★★★

Genre:  New Adult, Contemporary Romance, Young Adult

This book was great, it made me cry, that is not the only reason that it was great... it also made me laugh.

Wes Michals is someone that has known pain and loss and does not expect to fall in love. He expected to live a normal life for as long as he could. He did not expect to get new friends he only wanted to live his life as normally as possible without anything meaning too much to him.

Enter Kiersten, the freshman and the innocent lamb that is new to every college experience. Her uncle has been taking care of her since the tragic thing that happened to her parents. She sees it as tragic and sad, but other people see it as a peaceful ending... more specifically Wes.

I really enjoyed this book and I have already started the second book Toxic. I have a feeling that all three books in the series are going to make me  cry at least once... am I ready for that? I think I can handle it as long as it gets happier after which is what happened in Ruin and I am thankful that it got better after the storm.

Review:
This book was good and I enjoyed it, there were some parts that annoyed me mostly the back and forth between both Ezra and Sadie, but that makes the book, the wanting but being too scared to ruin a friendship.

Ezra is the most amazing friend that you could think of. After Sadie goes and dates and then is engaged with an ass; he is not happy about it, but he does not stand in her way. The aftermath of the engagement is when Ezra pops back into the picture and helps her even though they have not spoken for a while.

Sadie has made the worst mistake of her life and has to fix her relationships and fix her life. She has to get her spark back and has to learn how to live and the only way to do that is with the help of your best friend.  After being engaged to the ass, she ends up pushing all of her friends away because he does not want anyone monopolizing her time.

I am so happy that everyone in the book was willing to let her back into their life after pushing everyone away especially Ezra. Ezra had that right to be pissed at Sadie more than anyone because she just disappears from his life; when she needs help Ezra is there to help her and take care of her after everything that happened.

I liked this book quite a bit but the relationship starting between the both of them was really slow and I wanted it to go really fast :P This book was good though even though Ezra was stupid and really slow.  Sadie was not any better because she kept pushing her feelings deeper in hopes that Ezra would act first.

I am so glad that Sadie finally said something to Ezra and that Ezra finally woke up and took control of his life.
This series was really good. I need Hayes in my life next which I am super excited for because I am pretty sure I know who Hayes is going to fall for. I hope that she gives him a hard time, but not take a while. It was already blooming in this book so I can see some good and funny times coming.

Review:
Let me just say this before I get started on anything, this book so far is my favorite out of the series, so far... I don’t know how Ezra and Sadie’s story is going to go but right now Remy and Mathias are my boos :)

Moving on to the book, this book was great, there was a ton of ups and downs when I wanted to hug and hurt Mathias all in the same page, but he was worth the frustration.  We learned little parts in Maddox and Emma’s story. Mathias left Remy because she was moving away, but he did not leave their relationship in the best conditions.

Mathias has always had a chip on his shoulder and everyone knew about it. He was always moody and getting on every bodies bad side; he was a really big man whore. Sadie was it for him, but the Sadie was it for him, but they were too young to realize it.

Sadie has to come back to her hometown to take care of her grandma because she had a heart attack. Sadie is not happy when she gets into town; she has revenge on the mind because she knows that Mathias is in town as well. She tries to avoid him, but cannot help but surprise him when he walks into her work place.

They are both surprised that there is still the attraction between them and they rekindle fast, but what starts out as a revenge plot against Mathias changes into something more.

This book was really good, it made me cry a couple times... when Mathias was being an ass mostly because I really needed them to be together and get over their problems together. There were a lot of surprises and laughs as well. This is necessary read and the series as well.

Review: Maddox Wade and Emma Burke... They are amazing each separately and together. They may be young, but they both know what they want

Maddox Wade had a tough childhood and he went through a lot. He has a really big heart and he is the sweetest boy. His twin on the other hand not as sweet, but this story is not about Mathias it is about Maddox.

Emma Burke loves to be by herself, she does not like big crowds and would rather be reading then going out. Her best friend is an extrovert and makes her do many things that are not in her interest, but it helps her meet Maddox so that is a good thing.

Emma’s best friend Sadie brings her to a carnival and ditches her to go see a band called Willow Creek. Emma was expecting Sadie to come back after the show, but when she does not Emma is left alone and Maddox walks in. When he sees that Emma has no clue who he is, he uses that to his advantage and gets to know her.

Throughout the whole book I expected Emma to figure it out, but she never did and there were some really simple hints about who Maddox was, she never caught on though, which made me a little mad because then she got mad about it once she found out. I yelled at this book a little bit mostly when Maddox told Emma about himself and gave her hints to guess that he was in the band.

I love when books have a happy ending, but I hate when the girl is stubborn and does not want to forgive the guy because he wanted to do something that benefited them both.  This book was sweet and it was a quick read because I could not put this book down. I have always loved Micalea Smeltzer even with her other series Trace and Olivia. I expected to love her books and it did love up to the expectation with minor annoyances, but its okay it was worth it.

Review:

This book was very good. I have always loved Tiffany Reisz and her books because they are interesting and different.
I have been reading this series since the first book came out and they had me hooked. It is meant for a older audience  because there is a ton of sex and BDSM in it. The story is good though and Soren and Nora are perfect together. They make a great couple she is a switch kind of; she is a dominatrix with everyone else, but with Soren she is his submissive. It is intriguing because she would not sub for anyone else well except for Kingsley.

Kingsley plays a little in the book we get the story of why Nora went away for a year and why Kingsley disappeared. We also find out how he met Juliette. I am super happy that things ended well for Kingsley because he deserved it.
Nora and Soren get away to Scotland to finally be hitched and that is great because I knew they were going to be a permanent thing because they complimented each other so well.

This story was good and happy and that is really all I have to say to it because I had no complaints about this book.
